Artist Statement
I am an anthropological artist.
My work forms from the pursuit of obscure folklore, annotated psychological research papers, anatomizing creative works, and partaking in field studies in order to explore overlooked human experiences with a paradoxically ubiquitous lens.
With the combination of historic and modern oil techniques, my paintings strive to connect viewers to modern concerns via foundational cultural stories.

It makes people feel things, and uncovers emotions around life that people either like to avoid, or don't think about.
From the fantastical, drawing inspiration from various folklore and mythologies, to the incredibly real and human, Fae captures the complexity of feelings and sensations in the expressiveness of each brush stroke that pulls the paintings together.
Not only do they capture the subject with skill and precision, their compositions tell whole stories, encapsule entire worlds, they share something new with every viewing.
